Default Rigonda VL100 sound offset adjustment help.

I've just bought one of these communist delights ( implied sarcasm ) I now have it up and running which is apparently miraculous. The sound however is off and I need to wiggle the sound offset a bit now my russian not being up to much I have no idea where it is does anyone have knowledge of these sets??

Hi.
I have four of these sets. Is it one for the UK market with our 6 MHz sound? If it is I'd say it's most likely that some of the components around the intercarrier sound section are out of spec or the alignment is out. I don't have an alignment sheet but in the past I've noted carefully where the cores are sitting and then carefully adjust and look and listen if anything changes. If I am able to get any info from my contact in Poland I'll update the thread.

Hi
I do have the manual in Russian, It's in PDF format but I'm not sure if I'm allowed or whether I can upload the PDF's here. Perhaps a moderator can let me know.
Other than that send me a PM with your email address.

EDIT sorry I cant upload here as its from the Radiomuseum.
Look for Bimex 1000 Èlektronika there for the relevant info.

On the schematic L13/14 and L15/16 are marked as 6.5MHz so I guess they are your tweaking targets.

That's a massive help . Just out of interest do these normally take an absolute age for the tube to kick in? This thing's on for about three minutes before a picture appears.

Sorry, I can't remember. Mine's been dead for several years. I don't think they take an absolute age to warm up though. I'd have thought less than 1 minute. I guess you need to check the supply rails at switch on.

That's the ones Peter as the Russian standard the sound is at 6.5Mhz rather than 6Mhz.
You must have better eyesight than me!

Hi Trevor,

I don't know where I got my schematics from but I needed to patch two sheets together to see the full circuit. The resolution is very marginal and had to guess a little at the number text on the schematic. I'm not sure if it appear here but I'll try adding it. Yes, my copy is a little better than what you see below.

Hi Peter
Indeed the ones I have are marginal and I have difficulty focusing on them. Well done in spotting the coils. Mine are all to the Soviet standard with a VHF Turret tuner, three work well but the fourth has a tired tube, allegedly the main set in a Moscow apartment for many years.

Well twiddling those two has made absolutely no difference at all I still have sound and no picture or picture and no sound I'm wondering never both at the same time I've tried it on both the output of the Digibox and on my video sender and it's the same on both all my other TVs are fine with either

Back in the TV-DX days you could inject a 0.5MHz signal (oscillator using an IFT) to get the 5.5 or 6.5 MHz sound with 6MHz TV.

When you say "no difference" can you not detect any difference? Perhaps you could check where you get sound relative to where you get vision and see whether screwing the cores in takes the sound signal nearer to the vision or further away. Once you have established which side of 6MHz it's tuned to then you could make component changes to bring the core adjustments into range.

If you have a scope you could probably see whether it's 5.5MHz or 6.5MHz.
