Default Masteradio T917 TV.

After so many years watching VCR97s with oil filled magnifiers, our first "proper" TV was a 5 channel Masteradio T917 17" table model. My Dad bought it from the often referred to DUKE in Romford. It had no tube and no back/top card cover. After fitting a 17" re-activated tube, a home-fettled cover and the odd Mazda valve, it gave us years of fault-free service. He paid just £5-00 for it. Does anyone have one still working? Not that I am looking to buy, but just to know that somewhere one still works when fired up!

Default Re: Masteradio t917

There's a photo of that model if you scroll down here (link from Jon's Valve Page)

I think 17" CRTs appeared in 1952/3 so the T917 would certainly be one of the first models to have the new 'large' screen size.

Looks quite a smart set. I wonder if one has survived?
