Problem with Philips cassette recorder take-up spindle
I have just changed the gears in my Philips D6350 as they were quite worn down. But when I put a tape in the take-up spindle would not turn, and so the tape just came out of the cassette.
I'm not quite sure what's gone wrong, so I've attached two photos of the gears, one with the machine "off", and the other with it in the "play" position. |

Re: Problem with Philips cassette recorder take-up spindle
Extremely difficult to hazard a guess what is wrong here.
Presumably something is jammed or not fitted/aligned correctly. I would start by trying to work out what should mechanically drive the Take Up spool and work back through the mechanisms to establish the fault, could be very difficult. David |

Re: Problem with Philips cassette recorder take-up spindle
I took the mechanism apart and put it carefully back together and it works fine now.
Thank you for your help. |
