BTH 401 projectors
Clearing the wifes grandfathers place out, we've found x2 of the above, and maybe others (I can't remember at the moment mind) not sure on power cables/units.
Were they good quality products in the day(early/mid 50s)? It certainly looks and feels well built, and heavy with it! |

BTH produced one of the few post war wholly British projector designs ending with the 451 series. The 401 is from approx 1953 and it's essential to have the matching 'transformer' as it also contains the amplifier power supply.

I used one of these regularly in the 1960's & it proved very reliable.
The only problem I recall was with the exciter lamp adjustment , which if incorrectly set could men that the lamp might not make proper contact in its holder. As previously mentioned in the thread, it is imperative that you have the correct power supply unit. David. |
