I agree withe the sentiment about getting regular tests. My Mum has Glaucoma and it can be hereditary, however I've not got it so far. But the yearly eye tests I have to be sure did pick up my T2 diabetes and the damage it was doing. I do have it under control now and my prescription has reduced because of it.

I get my prescription glasses through Direct Specs. Made to my prescription, and a fraction of the price of buying through places like Boots. Last year I got some. Best quality varifocal, transistions lenses etc. just over £200. I've heard of people spending like £600 on a pair like this!
