Malfunctioning B&D drill
I have an older Black & Decker hammer drill (1970s) that is not hammering anymore. Upon disassembly I found the "disc with cams" on the output shaft was spining freely on the shaft. I can't see how that would work? Am I missing something or am I right in that it was once press fitted to the shaft and now have come loose?
Picture A and B shows the position of said disc. On picture C I have lifted it off. Picture D shows the stationary counterpart that the disc is supposed to bounce against. |

Sheared key with part remaining in shaft and part in the disc?

Re: Malfunctioning B&D drill
Thanks for your suggestions,
Unfortunately I could not find any remains of any broken key, even after taking it to work and checking it with microscope. Exploded view drawings shows disc and shaft as a solid part that is not supposed to be possibly to separate. I found a seller that sell this part but it not worth buying to an older, "standard quality" machine like this. I took this as an opportunity to buy a better drill. |
