HMV model 464
Hi folks, can anyone throw any light on this model?
It isn't in any of the CD or DVD data I have. Cheers, Alf |

Re: HMV model 464
Thanks for that Lawrence. At least it does exist.
I don't have the set but would be useful to know what the output valve was. I have been trying to find a speaker suitable for a French Suga radio and a speaker has come up on ebay but not sure if it will be a reasonable match. Cheers, Alf |

Re: HMV model 464
I don't know the types but there will be two output valves, it's QPP.
Unless it's one of theses which would be interesting. http://www.r-type.org/addtext/add019.htm Frank Last edited by Nuvistor; 9th Jul 2017 at 6:13 pm. |

Re: HMV model 464
Hello Frank,
Thanks for your reply. I agree with you its a QPP output stage as from the info I gleaned from the link supplied by Lawrence and looking up valve data books, I reckon it is two KT2 in QPP producing one watt output. Alf |

Re: HMV model 464
According to the Cossor 1937 to 1938 valve manual it has two separate output valves.
Cossor Equivalents given as 220HPT. This suggests that the MOV types were likely to be KT2's Crossed with Alf Cheers Mike T

Re: HMV model 464
The next page (same issue) in that WW link I posted reveals this:
http://www.americanradiohistory.com/...22marconiphone 562%22 Radiomuseum gives valve line up as W21, X21, W21, HD22, KT2, KT2. Service data's available for the Marconiphone 562 here: http://www.service-data.com/product....46/4472/b13346 Might be worth a punt... Lawrence. |

Re: HMV model 464
Hi Lawrence, wonderful! I'll check that out.
I have always thought it would be good if there was a look up table to cross relate models across the various manufacturers. Maybe there is one somewhere. Cheers, Alf |

Re: HMV model 464
Seems the valves employed were changed in the course of production. The Trader's "Receiver Specifications and Prices 1935-40" gives the line-up as W21, X21 or X22, W21, HD22, two PT2 or two KT2. Curiously the 464's IF is quoted as 125 kHz, the 562's as 124.
