Default Aluminium fascia renovation

I'm renovating a BSR 810 record deck (yet another). The aluminium fascia is rather shabby - see attached photos. I'm considering using waterslide transfers printed on a inkjet printer to re-do some of the lettering and symbols (after getting rid of the corrosion).

I'll need to get the original screen print and lacquer off the fascia. What is the best way to do this. I'd prefer not to remove the large black area as that part is OK. I guess I could mask that part, I just need a suitable method to deal with the silver parts.

No feedback on your silver paint question I see. Did you ever receive PMs with answers, or might you have figured out a genius way to repaint an authentic looking patina on the unit that you were restoring?

I am in the same boat, with a slightly newer Pioneer receiver, would appreciate a note if you found a good solution.

Tnx.
