More what are these components?
"A" is solid and measures 140mm x 20mm x 5mm a narrow copper trace runs full length under the two separate windings. Sadly one windings has a slight scratch and is OC. ?
"B" All test OC. ? "C1" & "C2" same item, different view ? "D" ? John.

Re: More what are these components?
A could be a delay line?
B two VDRs and a spark gap. C miniature pot? D Thermistors. |

Re: More what are these components?
The bottom one of 'B' is a spark gap, probably gas-filled. It would be used to short out over-voltages on, say, a telephone line.

Re: More what are these components?
The parts in 'D' look like thermistors - they're quite sought after these days. Types RA52 and RA53 ring a bell.

Re: More what are these components?
I thought bottom of B may be a spark gap it was in a bag with the other two in the picture which also measure open circuit.
John.

A looks like an AVO resistor.

Re: More what are these components?
I think C1 & C2 are either a ceramic or possibly crystal resonator. Basing this on the SFR part number. Picture A does appear to be a twin resistor of high accuracy, from some sort of test equipment.

Photo 5 second from left (leads upwards) looks like a reed switch

Re: More what are these components?
One of the 'things' in the rightmost photo looks like a form of mercury-wetted switch; the oddly-shaped bracket would suggest that it was intended to be mounted to something which was then tilted to open/close the contacts.
I remember seeing something similar used to activate a bell on the door of a shop back in the 60s. |

If picture B are VDR's are they useless ? they measure open circuit at room temperature. John.

Re: More what are these components?
They do at low voltages. They will be OK.
