Default Faux leather vinyl

I am attempting to recover a radio I recently aquired, just as an exercise to see how it goes. The problem is I need a vinyl covering that is a maximum of 0.5mm, I have searched about quite a bit but cannot find anything that thin or possibly thinner. Would anyone know of any sellers who may have what I am looking for. Any help much appreciated.

Have you checked retrospecialist? You will need to ask them as they do not quote thickness on their website. I have used both their linen backed and paper backed rexine and been pleased with the result.

A timely thread, as I also have just started to recover a Roberts revival to see how it goes.

Thanks to Paul for the link, will check it out.

I have a Roberts DAB radio (might be a revival) which is suffering, as they seem to do. Someone on here once covered one in the kind of 'oil cloth' substitute which shiny thick wipe-clean tablecloths seem to now be made of. I seem to remember it was a success, and that stuff is widely available (our local fabric place has a big choice of colours and patterns - but it tends not to be textured).

I've not examined one, but as I recall a couple of Revival cosmetic variants used Cath Kidston patterned oilcloths, so the material should be fine: and when those come up for sale they're usually in a far better state than the standard models whose coverings in recent years are wretched. Whenever I've thought of re-covering one myself the strap handle has put me off, though on reflection it shouldn't be a huge challenge to do presentably.
