Re: [HELP NEEDED] UHER Report Monitor 4000 mechanical noise/hum
I don't know if you have any real electronics shops any more (the ones in the UK have almost all closed) but the German DIN connectors were very common for many years in instrumentation and HiFi in continental Europe.
A music shop might not have any on the shelves, but they will likely have someone there who makes cables up for guitarists and will surely have some DIN plugs in their stocks, or can make you the cable. I don't know any specifically Dutch online electronic component shops, but Reichelt have some here and Conrad have a selection as well if you can't find any locally. Make sure to get a DIN rather than a Mini-DIN (which you'll recognise from old PC mouse and keyboard connections). Even an old cable from a second hand shop will work if it has a re-wireable 6-pin DIN on one end, as you can take the wires out, discard the cable and make your own with the DIN plug. If you get really stuck I can make you up a cable. |

A somewhat better schematic section showing the 6 pin connector.

There are 6 pin DIN plugs and cables in the Netherlands on eBay, here is one example.

Doing some translating I see the seller is actually in the UK.

Thank you both once again for the detailed info! I think I might have a clue where to go now that we've discussed it. There's a small guitar shop/service I went there a while ago. My gut tells me to try that first. It's called The String Guitar Shop. As for the make of the thing, I don't mind at all soldering up a cable myself! I already made myself 3 DIN to TS 6.3 (was very happy I kept those sockets from two vintage microphones). But I am flattered by the offer чичо!!! I know what type of sockets are able to disassemble as well. I just need the thing and I will make it for no time! I thank you as well for the links.

Re: [HELP NEEDED] UHER Report Monitor 4000 mechanical noise/hum
I might get some criticism for this but I still think some people on the web might find this useful. This is without a doubt a really great portable reel to reel three head recorder. There is no room to hide I often plug it as a delay effect in my music production. Can't be compared with the digital sfx. In fact the uher is by far my favorite along with the Sony TCM-5000ev for such applications. They really stick out from the whole bunch. Now what I find very unique about the uher is the four speed settings. That translates into different delay times. With a little bit of knowledge, skill and a lot of patience I managed to pull out the speed adjustment trim pot, replaced it with a bigger one and installed it in the front panel in the place of the meter. I know this is a fine adjustment for the playback speed and should be fixed. However, it gives great variable delay ranges in all different speed settings. I made a tutorial for this on reddit. I thought I'd share it with you and whoever might get to this thread. ✌🏼
