Default Dynatron CTV16

Having just picked up in Birmingham last week, iI just got to plug it in and connected the aerial to what must be the last broadcasts of anologue signals. There are 3 UHF channels still available on the UPC system in Dublin, the channels are E4, Channel4 and Discovery. iI was delighted to see the old set come up with a fairly sharp picture and good sound. The only main problem is there is no control to the brightness and it seems to be flat out full with no change with the slider control or the wheel control on the wired remote. iI bypassed the remote incase it was causing the problem, but no change.

Any suggestions please?

It's the hybrid 697 chassis Malc. I used to have one.

The brightness control works by varying the bias on the PL802 luminance output valve. Effectively changing the voltage at the cathodes of the CRT.
