Default Mystery TV

Hi all.
I called into a local junk emporium (the junk bit is mine, the emporium bit theirs) and behind a mountain of stuff was a console TV. It was so built in that I could not get to it to find out what make. However, it was very distinctive and if it is recognised and wanted by someone, I can find out how much etc.
Probably a 21" WA tube above a light tygan speaker grill through which the speaker aperture was a bit too clearly visible for my liking. The fibre back was scaled back to make the wooden (mahogony or perhaps teak effect) surround look very slim. The distinctive feature was, though, that the channel selector and one other front mounted knobs were set off to the right of centre. It was quite a good looking set and cosmetically, in very good nick. What is it and any takers?
Cheers
Brian

No.

Rather sought after I'd think. I've always rather fancied one.

Hi Brian
Do you want me to investigate? I can get the model number and look more closely at it - that's if they are willing to did it out! I can hold it for a while till we get the courier service into gear?
Cheers

I suspect that Helen might look with some disfavour on the idea - I did promise her I wouldn't get into vintage TV. It might not hurt to ask how much they want though!

Perhaps we'd better make any further communication by PM or I might have to moderate myself (Ouch).

Regards,

That's the one Tas - thanks. It's quite a looker isn't it? I will call into the shop in the next couple of days and very quietly ask how much it is!!!

I have at last visited the junk shop again and enquired about the Pam TV. He wants £75 for it!! I said that was way to much and £20 might be possible but he wouldn't move saying that it was in perfect condition - which it is externally.
Cheers

£75 is a lot, but if the cabinet's in excellent condition, it could save you a lot of hard work.

And it seems a bargain when you consider what plastic tat £75 would buy you in, say, Dixons or Comet.

I'd go for it, personally.

Nick.

It's too young for me, Nick - I have to draw the line somewhere! Anybody else interested?

I'd offer something for the Pam but I'm quite a distance away and I already have too much stuff unfortunately

But I'd say it's worth at least £60 if the cabinet's in good condition and the chassis is complete and restorable

I will gladly give it an internal examination if anyone wants it and can store it for a while until the Forum Courier Service can be mobilised.
