Default Decca Bradford - unusual model

After all the comments about my Decca Bradford, I thought I'd best stick a picture on here for you to look at
It was my first restoration and I love it dearly
It's used every night and always displays a great picture.

Hi Dr Watts.

That's an unusual model of Bradford - At least I've never seen one quite like that before. It looks like it has an excellent picture too.

From Mike.

I've never seen one either. Nice looking set - all the Bradfords I have seen I thought were let down by the cabinet designs - just plain wooden boxes.
Chacun à son goût, I suppose - all subjective.

I have never seen this design before, but looks good and modern. I think it must be one of the last models that they made using the Bradford Chassis.
That crt looks brilliant, which type is it?

I can't remember what tube it's got now

It was made in 1976, I bought it from a guy for £10 in Peterborough who bought it new, good old eBay eh...
I even got the sale recipt !
It did need rather a lot of TLC to get it 'right'
You're right about the styling though, it almost looks too new to have valves in

Absolutely. The knobs are identical to those on an 18" 80-series set which I used to have, which would have been made a few years after yours.

It certainly must have saved lots of stuff like this from being dumped.

I must admit, the first thing I wondered about when I picked the thing up was the electronic channel selector with LED's on it.
I assumed it was an 'add on' due to the original unit being rubbish or possibly for a Video channel upgrade,
which works perfectly by the way
The channel selector always defaults to the video channel when switched on, and incase you're wondering what the box is on top of the video...
It's the magic box which switches the decca on and off useing the video remote control.
It had to be built into a box, because building it into the Bradford would offend both me and probably all of you ...

I'm afraid the GEC's gonna have to wait until Friday evening, we are in the process of writing & posting wedding invitations at the moment

Incidentally, I'm in a bit of a rut...
When the GEC is eventually finished and proved it's reliability (yeah right !)
I will probably have to wave goodbye to Bradders.
We don't have a loft to keep it in or a spare corner for it to live in.
This makes me very sad, but you know what they say...
Out with the old, and in with the older

Do you guy's think anyone could be interested
