Default A VLF transmission on 14.2 kHZ

For those who ,like to try and receive the SAQ transmissions here is another VLF transmission which would like reception reports, this time from a balloon aerial on 14.2 kHz

Funnily enough I've just been talking with a friend about this. I usually hear the SAQ transmissions OK on my homebrew LF loop and SDRPlay receiver, so I'm hoping the loop will work just a few kc/s lower. I don't think there's been any mention of the power level - obviously it will be a whole lot lower than the mighty Alexanderson beast!

Hi

Having had another look at the Alexander page, I think it will be very low power.

I had thought it was the antenna that the balloon was taking up, but the mention
that it will rise to 30km (around the normal bursting point for a High Altitude
Balloon) suggests a battery powered transmitter with a trailing antenna.

Still, you never know, it will be very interesting to see the results

Kind regards

No reception here. I've been listening since 1200 hrs and not heard a sausage.

I will be sending a "no signal received" report to them. Too much noise here.
