Can anyone please identify this record deck, it appears to be on a home made plinth.

This is the BSR TU8 unit launched in early 1955. It was replaced by the TU9 4 speed unit in the Summer of 1956. It came as standard with an Acos HGP37-1 cartridge. The little speed selector lever often snapped off on these. They will be readily found on the EAR "Babygram" and Margolin (Dansette) "Grammette" of the period.
