Default Zoom lectures on Marconi/Writtle/etc.

Not sure where to post this and apologies for the short notice. There's some possibly interesting online talks on Marconi and the startup of broadcasting under the aegis of the Chelmsford Science and Engineering Society coming up soon.

Thanks. There are one or two that look like they might make an interesting evening.

I joined the first one The Power behind the Microphone and enjoyed it with several photos of the Marconi works not seen before, not sure if they are going to stream it later. There were approx 120 people on line.

A couple more events taking place;

Join Ray Clark on Monday 15th June at 6pm on BBC Essex as we celebrate the centenary of the very first official live entertainment broadcast.

It changed the world and happened here in Essex.

We’ll look back at Dame Nellie Melba’s historic Chelmsford broadcast at Marconi with special guests and a live performance.

Let's meet the cast for The Power Behind the Microphone...

Robert Daws has been cast in the role of Peter Eckersley!

Robert trained at RADA and has led a broad career in TV, film, theatre, radio and as an author of a series of crime novels.

His many television credits include: Dr Gordon Ormerod in eight series of THE ROYAL, Roger Dervish in the award- winning Outside Edge, Simon Eastman in Casualty and most recently he played Ernie Raynor in the Only Fools and Horses prequel trilogy.

We can't wait to see the TV royalty on our Civic Theatre stage next Monday (15) at 7.10pm.

We will be live streaming the whole thing, here on our Facebook page.
