Default Pye or Ekco chassis ?

I saw this set for sale recently. The "Dual standard" badge is the same as the one on my Ekco dual standard which is fitted with the PYE 11U chassis. The VHF tuner knob however looks like one fitted to the earlier 405 only Ekco sets.
Nevertheless I expected the set to be an 11U. Looking at the picture of the chassis it clearly isn't!
It has a 625 line hold control but I can only see one aerial socket so it is probably a unconverted convertible set with false UHF front controls.
I didn't realise there were so many dual standard Pye chassis before the 11U!
Is it a Pye chassis or an Ekco made before the two companies became one?
I have not seen one before.

Default Re: Pye or Ekco chassis ?

It’s not a chassis I have seen but it seems a mixture of Pye amd Ekco parts. Those rotary controls at the top rear look Ekco, one of the IF transformers look like those used in Ekco radio but the LOPTX is more Pye.
Have you a model number?

It's an Ekco chassis. It was used in the later version of the T402 and also fitted in models T405 and T407. In terms of construction it does resemble the Pye model 11 but it is a true Ekco design.
Didn't see many back in the day.
