What about this one fitted in Thorn mono, 4 track, 3 speed tape recorders produced from the mid-to late 1960s.

If the DIN speaker plug is inserted one way, the internal speaker is still connected, but inserted the other way, the internal speaker is muted.
the DECCA has these .Put the plug in one way and the internal speakers go off .Turn it round and both sets work

this is a photo of the amp unit .You can see the back of the speaker Din sockets .As you can see there are three connections all in use
