Default Mimco Loudhailer not working, repairer sought.

------------------------------------------------------

Hello all,

I have a MIMCO loudhailer, which doesn't work. It's in absolutely mint condition with box and instructions, dated 1959. Can anybody recommend someone to get it going for me? I have fitted eight brand new batteries and am not getting anything from it at all. Electronics is not my department. If I start taking it apart it'll only get worse.
I would really appreciate any advice/leads.
Thanks.

Really its not too bad to take apart, i would bet that the carbon mic is not working, do you have an old telephone? if so i would ask you to take the mouthpiece out and connect it to the horn, if it works than its the carbon mic.
