Measurements across resistor is 1.68v then ends at 1.9

To be honest I'm struggling to make sense of your readings.
Could you take the voltage readings (meter on DC setting) at the points indicated by the arrows and put them on the diagram? |

According to your earlier measurements, approx. 168 volts is being dropped between the reservoir capacitor and the anodes of the pentodes, that suggests high resistance somewhere.

The multimeter I've got is a an8008 it doesn't show dc just auto it has ac true, I have now got a 180ohm gone bad so will have to change that first just ordered so don't want to put power on until changed

Just to up date first thanks for the help I have replaced the resistor that I made smoke with my clumsy fingers. Gone back and had another look couldn't get the voltages right still strange. Changed the rectifier for what I said in post 1, now I have the correct voltages and sounds amazing now thanks everyone
