Looking on the internet if found a photo like your yours. That is the nearest I could find to mine.

I would agree with that.

On close inspection there are a lot of spare holes in the brass frame, and a plastic lug that rotates once a minute. I suspect it was originally a master clock, now with bits removed.

This one is actually an elapsed time indicator.
Same idea but yet another design. Is there just the one one winder? I presume the hole on the left is to hang a pendulum ? Thanks for sharing.

Hi John,

It's not a Synchronome, Bulle, Murday or Lowne.

Thank you Mike, I was hoping you could tell me what it is. If it helps the clock is from Ireland.

I will send you a PM.

John.

John.
It is massively simpler than that.
It only has a single winder and the movement is more like a big wristwatch.
The main spring is the coil spring looped over the axle.
The "pendulum" hanger you have seen is one of the spade terminals for the power.
There is a much more complex elapsed time indicator in the background that would take us off topic. it is a very different movement. The case is on and does come off with an ask for another thread.

Silly me, that "hole" for the pendulum looks the same as what we have here, I was going to ask what it was made out of because I am told it is more accurate if it has a small amount of movement, and the one here is not original. I'm sure someone on here will have come across a flexible pendulum hanger.
Thank you for the picture, maybe best not to go to another thread.
Meccano Man by any chance?

John.

I think the part you are referring to is known as the pendulum suspension, loads available on eBay, but you would need to know the dimensions of the original part, but you might get away with one that ‘just fits’. It’s normally a thin bit of spring steel, sometimes with brass ends folded over it.

John.
If a thread on elapsed time indicators is asked for I am pretty sure the moderators will allow it.
The one I showed is nice and simple so it is easy to see how it winds. It is very similar to the way a battery powered flip clock winds.
The other one is a different beast altogether hence a new thread if there is an interest.

Thanks, I have just had a look and passed the link on to my friend.

Do the lantern pinions suggest it might not be UK? Perhaps USA?

Not necessarily so - plenty of them in UK.

Nick your picture of the Rover clock has reminded me of how many car clocks worked. I have had many cars with these and none of them worked untill I sorted them. Usually dirty contacts.
