Default Howes DXR20 receiver

hi, the band module (small removable pcb) in this receiver has 1 tunable coil,
what could be the purpose,
seems to be no documentation for this pcb......
otherwise 40&20 seems deaf
80m is very noisy ,not sure its ok eider
seems very little alignment needed on tis receiver.....
working perfect with the dfd4 counter now
any comments welcome
regards carlos

I think that you mean the DXR20 receiver.

The "15" on the module suggests to me that it is the BM15 module which had a range of 17 to 23 MHz. I think that you adjust the coil so that the receiver tunes over the desired range.

Your best source of information is the GQRP club. See http://www.gqrp.com/howes.htm

Google will help you find the review of the DXR20 in the May 1995 issue of Radio Communication.
