Re: Dynatron R86. Volume control noisy.
Squirt some contact cleaner such as Servisol 10 into the volume control potentiometer. That's the bit the shaft, which is driven by the knob, disappears into. There's generally a gap by the tags which you can poke the nozzle into.
Having done that work the volume control from one extreme to the other several times.

Re: Dynatron R86. Volume control noisy.
l've had success with dismantling these potentiometers and cleaning the carbon tracks, re tensioning the spring contacts slightly, and even gently bending them so they contact an unused part of the carbon track.
When there's no chance of replacing the part, it can be worthwhile, although contact cleaner (NOT WD40!!) can work well as mentioned above. l have found Servisol Super 10 to be the best, but l guess everyone knows that already. |

WD 40 works just as well!
But, if that does not work or even servisol, I would replace the control. Ken |

Re: Dynatron R86. Volume control noisy.
Servisol seems to have done the job but think there might be a bad point as it all works good apart from a particular volume level.
