Decca Console TV of 1949 - I.D. anyone please?
Hello all,
Many years ago (1974!) I acquired a service manual for a Decca Console TV that used a Mazda CRM121 tube. The drawings in it are dated 1949 and I wondered if anyone knows if it had a model number? The manual doesn't give a model name or number anywhere! Its a lot like the Decca 121 Projections set in cabinet design and I wonder if one of these nice looking sets has survived. Many thanks, George |

George I think the model is a 101. One has just been sold in the auction at Royal Wootton Bassett.

Plessey MK1 or 2 chassis, not the earlier mains EHT chassis often referred to as the MK1.
The difference between the MK1 and 2 is mainly the picture shift circuitry employed in the Mk2. Mazda CRM121B CRT usually flat but the mains transformers CRT heater winding has a 6.3v tap for a Mullard. John. |

I'm recreating a Decca 101 from a bodged up projection TV cabinet:

I didn’t intend to buy it but as no one else bid I thought it’s fate might not be a favourable one. It’s a nice looking set and I will probably put it near the top of the to do list Andy

Good luck with it. I would consider this Plessey chassis to be one of the easiest to overhaul. Very simple, reliable circuit with the minimum of bling. A typical Plessey product. John.

Thanks for the info John. I’m sure even if it’s easy to work on I will require some help from the good people on here I will start a new thread when I’m ready Andy
