Default HMV 2614 restoration

Finally I have now got around to restoring this Thorn 850 chassis HMV2614.
Thanks to chaps on the forum who have valuable experience. I was two when this set came out but it dwelled in my bedroom into the 70s.
The UHF side of things was dead but after a clean up of the uhf wafer in the vhf turret I now have signals. I didn't help the aeriel connection was dry jointed.
Much caps work to do but it is looking hopeful.
Simon

Excellent. I've been working on an 850 chassis I've owned since the 1970's and today had a good result with reasonable picture and sound. Good luck with it!

There seem to be a lot of 850s around at present. I am working on a very sad case just now- horrible internal bodges, case falling apart. I haven't had a picture yet because someone had managed to snap one of the lead out wires on the LOPT. Luckily it was repairable and whilst I was at it I've put the LOPT in the airing cupboard for a week to dry out thoroughly. Tube reads good on a tester, so my hopes are high. This one doesn't have a UHF tuner fitted but I will try and lay my hands on one.

Apologies all
I'll try again.
I would welcome tips on sorting out veneer damage.
I'll put up up some pictures off screen soon. The tube seems very good.

Thank you Paul for suggesting two part coloured fillers such as Kwikwood.
I'll give it a go. Fortunately not had battle the woodworm.
