Default Re: Ekco CR152/N car radio

When I started repairing this radio, my intention was to fit it in my car.

As I got done, I realized that the space I where I want to install it (under the heater controls) is only 14cm deep, because of the heater box behind it.

After much thinking, I decided to get a second radio and modify it to fit. The result is as in the picture — simply put, I cut the back 1/3rd off the radio and placed it below the front, in an L-shape. As I chose the cut point very carefully, I will only have to extend 5-6 cables which are too short.

This also gives me the opportunity to fit a speaker inside of the L, at a 45° angle. I will have to make a new box (probably out of acrylic) for the whole lot, similar perhaps to a HMV / Radiomobile 100.

The radio is not in full working order, needs a bit more re-capping. I am hoping the 90° rotation of the circuit board will not create any unexpected interference or oscillations!
