I was amazed at the amount of stuff on this Gumtree sale

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
Certainly not an amateur collection, what dealers are there in Hailsham?
What's that receiver top left in the first image, between the PCR and BC221?

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
Cor, what a collection! I spy a Trio R-1000. Anyone know what the receiver on the very top row of the first picture is - it's in the middle, right on top of the Marconi wave analyser. It rings a strong bell but I can't quite place it. Something like Tandy or Realistic maybe?

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
Must be a dealer, shutting up shop. But, who on earth has twelve & a half grand to cough up for the lot.
First picture - bottom left - CT436 Oscilloscope. Knew them well when they came out in the mid 60's. I've got one, cost a fiver, and works spot-on. Regards, David |

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
Yes quite agree £12K does in no way IMO befit what's on display here even at collectors money! But worth a punt and offer I would of have thought as none of this is known as working etc-so bit of an Aladdin's cave but nice collection and hope it sees a good home even in bits and pieces sales etc.

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
The price is obviously just made up as a placeholder - the advert is asking for expressions of interest on individual items.
Clearly either a major collection, or a vintage radio dealer. |

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
I don't see a BC221 top left in the first image, it looks a bit like a Collins TCS unit.
The price £12345 is an obvious filler to keep Gumtree happy. He's using them as advertising and intends to sell via private contact. Surprised the price was rounded and the 67 pence bit was lopped off. David

Re: Huge sale of old amateur gear
Obviously a dealer as he regularly posts wanted posts on Gumtree. Posting pictures of masses of stuff is easier than listing it all individually.

So, anyone recognise that receiver, linear scale with 3 or 4 bands, immediately above the legend: GBY 100 I'll ask the seller
