Re: Pictures of our Collections
Nice telephones Dave! My photos are very out of date so I could out some more on some-time. Josh.

Re: Pictures of our Collections
Jim - unfortunately not (nor do I have the bell unit with the proper induction coil), but I'm open to offers.
Josh - thanks for the link. Having noticed that it was in the "radios" section, it's probably better to keep this one separate. Incidentally, I now realise that I didn't take any pictures of my radios and TVs, so await the next instalment (probably in about two years' time) when I finish the next film. ... unless of course I weaken meanwhile and buy a digital camera |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
I don't think I could fit all the colour TVs into one shot, so here's some of the VCRs instead.
Mike. PS. Er, is this okay in the "Radio" section? |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Oh, go on then!
My 'office' has benches & storage on 3 sides (it's 'only' 10'x15') so can only photgraph one side of it! Adrian PS: Pics don't show the pile of Hallicrafters S-38D's (all 14 of them) nor the Zenith T/O's (15 of those) or the rack with 100+ small British handbag portables, nor the racks on the landing outside...no wonder wifey gets a bit irate! |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Adrian, is that a Mexican mains plug I see hanging from that flex dangling over the Hallicrafters?
Wow. I'm surprised the shelves haven't collapsed under all that iron. How easy is it to get old radios in Mexico? |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Hello,
I have posted pictures of my junk before but not these. This is a small part of my loft space containing many receivers and tubes. I really should list them as I have little idea whats up there! Oh well, I suppose someone will make a bonfire of it when I pop off....Actually at the present time it is all left to the BVWS. I will have great delight watching whoever has to sort it out. It will take months! Regards John. |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Biohazard? More like explosive!* - as the label says MW43-64, I assume it's a CRT.
*or should that be "implosive"? |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Yes Dave your right! It is an MW43-64 wrapped up in a bin bag.....There are around 40 tubes in the loft ranging from an EMI 4/5 to some really oddballs.
I will have a good sort out after Christmas and try to list some of the items. Regards John. |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Hi, Some of my collection of old radios and tvs reside in a 6x4 shed at my fathers house. Not ideal I know. The sad thing is some of these sets rarely see the light of day. My wooden and bakelite friends have to share the space with spare windscreens and other bits and pieces.
All the best, Des. |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
The hut at least looks sturdy and quite dry, but the number of sets in there (TVs excepted) would surely just as easily fit under the average double bed!

This USED to be a fairly organized room.
Then my baby daughter came along. Isn't the US term for young beginner "elmer" or have I got that ridiculously wrong. Dave

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
Hello,
I am at last putting together my museum in my small bedroom. Unfortunately I'm not permitted to build a shed on my property due to a clause in the deeds so all my sets, now around 300, have to be accomodated in the house. It's a bit tricky taking a photo of the sets in the small bedroom but in the first pic below can be seen some of my valve and heavier transistor sets now shelved in there. The wall opposite which has more room has yet to be shelved but I'll be doing that shortly. In the second pic of the dining room some of my favorite sets waiting to be moved into the small bedroom and on the table opposite (not in view) my two favorite sets, both 1956 AM/FM valve sets, my Grundig 3028 Hi-Fi Zauberklang and my Bush VHF61 which I took outside and photographed separately. The Grundig will be apparing in Success Stories in the next couple of days. My entire collection of Roberts and many other transistor sets fit neatly under a bed as they're not large but hopefully some of those will be moved into the small bedroom soon. I am running out of room so I will be selling a few sets soon ! Howard |

Re: Photos of our "stashes"?
This is great stuff...
Although I am more into the modern electronics, I can appreciate the total dedication and love that goes into the work collecting and restoring these wonderful peices of vintage items. These photo's are very uplifting and I am sure bring enjoyment to many, thank you. Well done all, keep it up... Daniel. |
