Farnell PG101 pulse generator
Seasons greetings one and all!
Santa left me one of these as an early present but I can't find an operator's manual for it on the 'net. Does anyone know what the "single/double" push button should do? Doesn't seem to do anything looking at the pulse train on a 'scope. If anyone does have a manual for it do please let me know. Many thanks as always Simon |

Re: Farnell PG101 pulse generator
Double, should send pulse pairs with a controlled delay between them.
Unless you have the pulse width small enough WRT the repetition rate, all you get is a mess, though David

Thanks David, that sort of confirms what I expected. Just have to disentangle the settings to be suitable. Unless, of course, it's not pilot error it's technology implode.
THanks for your help Simon |

Re: Farnell PG101 pulse generator
With the assurance that David's reply gave me I have just had another fiddle with the knobs and got the double pulse one would expect. Result!
Thank you for your expertise and generosity in replying Best rgds Simon |

Re: Farnell PG101 pulse generator
It shows you that you really need a scope to make sense of a pulse generator.
The things have an immense number of combinations of control settings, and the majority of them produce silly results. As a penalty for just trying to fiddle them on the fly, it is traditional for the output voltage controls to not be calibrated AND to be capable of blowing up whatever you intend to use it to drive David
