Re: The Transam Triton Personal Computer
Hi
Just got back on to my Triton rebuild project , I think a logic analyser might help. I see there are a number of reasonable Price USB logic analyser out there. I wondered if anyone has any experience or recommendation ? |

Re: The Transam Triton Personal Computer
I bought a generic clone one which I can't find listed now but, they all look much of a muchness and I notice this one specifically says it works with the open source sigrok software under Linuxhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Logic-Analy.../dp/B08JV4W1CD that is great as the one I had did not and had to use software from another commercial product.

Re: The Transam Triton Personal Computer
Does the software allow the possibility of paralleling up several of those input devices? For the price, it would be worth buying four to cover all data + all address + a useful number of control / chip select lines, although you'd need a PC with at least 4 spare USB ports.

Re: The Transam Triton Personal Computer
I noticed there seem to be two types of the cheap logic analyser. One has two ground pins and the other has a CLK pin and a single ground pin. According to one Amazon listing the type with the CLK pin is the old type. Does anyone have the old type with the CLK pin and knows if this is a clock output or input and if it could be used to sync to a scope trigger or a system clock? Unfortunately the one I received today has the two ground pins on the label, so I’m wondering if its worth trying again for the version with CLK.

Mine has the two Ground pins so I can't comment sorry. Of course as I acquired the HP so looking at extending beyond 8 channels fell by the wayside.

This type also looks interesting with 16 channels.

Re: The Transam Triton Personal Computer
Just updated my Triton website to make it clear the eprom's images in my download section are not standard versions.
