Tricky set to identify....
Hi All,
This from the Canal Forum, and from a 1944 docu'-drama called Painted Boats. The white spots may be merely reflections from the brasswork ! Thoughts welcome, John |

Re: Tricky set to identify....
Hi John
The set looks almost like a Murphy or an Ekco. It's a pity there wasn't a better shot of the front. Regards Ken |

Re: Tricky set to identify....
How about this as a contender the Cameo ABX
https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/rees_mace_cameo_abx.html Its difficult to judge how wide the set is from the picture. Cheers Mike T

Re: Tricky set to identify....
It would have to have been a battery operated set. No mains supplies on narrowboats of that era. No shore supplies either.

Re: Tricky set to identify....
There is a battery Cameo the ARP but so little is known about Cameo that there was a battery version of the ABX would not be a surpise.
The ARP is built in the same case as the ABX but the tuning scale arrangement is different. Cheers Mike T
