Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
As some of you will already know, above is excellent for restoring colour and shine to rexine covered cases(Roberts Radios, Dansette record players etc.) Thats the easy bit!) I have been after some Green for a nice little Roberts R200 but can't find Meltonian of any colour in my area( Bath/W. Wilts)
Is the company still in existance? Does anyone know of any suppliers around my area? Are the alternative products by other manufacturers as good? Thanks Tim

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
I found that one already thanks Chris.
It doesn't show the colour I am looking for. Roberts R200, which looks like Meltonian Pine Green (colour217). I'll try my local Tesco, or give Meltonian (Now known as "Kiwi Select" following takeover by the "Sara Lee" group 01753 523971) and is distributed by Dunkelman and Sons 01536 760760. Colours seem to be as originally. But I still can't find any Pine green....... Tim Last edited by Paul Stenning; 26th Dec 2004 at 5:36 pm. Reason: Fix link or code for vBulletin |

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
The one word that springs to mind is "cobblers" Some time ago I needed red polish for a similar job but couldn't find it until a shoe shop assisstant suggested I tried the local cobblers or heel bar and the first one I called at had a fair selection of colours to chose from....

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
Clarks shoe shops do their own make of scuff cover, the red and blue being a very good match for Roberts and Dansettes.

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
Thanks Julian.
Have found some Pine green Meltonian(but it was the last pot). Is a very good match for the Green Roberts R200. Thanks for the tip re. Clarks scuff coat. Tim

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
Tracked down some blue Meltonian today for an HMV wind-up gramophone. The cobbler was selling last stock as he says Meltonian will now be marketed as Kiwi. Verified by the rep who just happened to be there.
BTW he was selling them off at 50p a jar so I got ten in various colours. Jim |

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
Thanks for your comments
Yes, Meltonian are now owned by the Sara Lee group, and Re-named " Kiwi Select " . See earlier in this posting for distributors. Dunkelmans are very good, and will send a colour chart on request. Colours will remain the same though apparently. Make sure you all buy plenty so it's not deleted......... Roberts R200 looks great, so keep an eye on Paul Stennings site. Cheers Tim

Re: Meltonian shoe cream....where can I buy?
Tim,
You can order Kiwi shoe creams on-line from http://www.pediwear.co.uk/stock.php?range_ID=90 including pine green. I am looking for some very pale blue for a Decca Debonaire so have ordered some white and navy and hope I can get the right colour by mixing. It costs £2.49 per pot + 75p per pot postage. Best of luck, John B. |
