Restoring KB Calypso
I am trying to restore one of these - anyone know of a suitable replacement plastic that can replace the one that is damaged (the plastic covering the wooden case).
Many thanks. |

Re: Restoring KB Calypso
How badly damaged is it, is it just torn or are there large pieces missing?
I have repaired torn covering with superglue and apply pressure using fingers and a thin plastic sheet to protect you from the glue adhering to your fingers. Try to not get too much glue on the surface of the material but allow it to fill the crack along the tear so it knits the fibres together. You may need to touch up the plastic with matt modelling or vinyl paint (mix to match colour) to disguise the repair. Mike Last edited by crackle; 7th Jul 2014 at 7:41 am. |

No large bit missing - hence the new covering. It is a log beyond just sticking bits back.
I am also not sure if I can get the chrome bits off to effect a repair as well. |

Re: Restoring KB Calypso
The covering is a sort of thin cloth backed Fablon.
