Default Forum Search Problem

When I enter key words and do a Forum search I get large number of pages of search results but in no apparent order and often not containing the key words I am interested in.

For example searching for Uher CR 240.

What am I doing wrong ?

As I mentioned in a thread about a different search issue, it appears that the Forum search (as opposed to the Google search at the top of the page) will give you all threads that match any word of four or more letters in your search, so in this case it will return everything containing "Uher" and ignore "CR" and "240". if you were to search for "Uher CR240", it would give you all threads containing either "Uher" or "CR240".

If there's a way to search only for threads containing both "Uher" and "CR240", I'd be interested to know.

Thank you David that is very helpful. So for my example, "CR240" is what to search for, for specific threads referencing CR240, "Uher CR240" would give large number of results but most of them just for Uher, "CR 240" being no good as not 4 letters or more.

A real shame that search results do not show just ANDED words.

The Google search box at the top of this page will accept Boolean operands. For example:-

Uher AND CR240

Which yields:-
