Question Roberts R300 Ground loop

Hi there

I'm running a R300 with a raspberry Pi linked in on an AUX in which is wired directly to the volume POT. This is a great system, however a frustration comes with the need for two power supplies.

What I want to do is power the Raspberry Pi off the same power supply I am running the radio from, however doing this creates a ground loop as the two circuits are obviously very different.

I have purchased a couple of LT44 transformers to run back to back to hopefully fix this. Am I better off fitting them on the power side or the audio side?

Thanks
