Re: Memorable vintage electronics advertising.
The late 1950's/early 1960's cartoon ad for the "TV Times".
Family in car. Mum: "Faster George, that programme starts at 6.15!" Gran: " Slow down George, it doesn't start 'till 7.20!" Kids: " Quick dad, it's on now!" Family arrive, and switch on TV displaying "The End". Ends with voice advising you to always get the TV Times. |

Re: Memorable vintage electronics advertising.
Blimey I'd forgotten that one. IIRC, it was very similar in style to the , "Crossing with a pram takes time" safety advert.

Re: Memorable vintage electronics advertising.
AFAIR its successor showed a group of men, some waving placards, and their leader saying "Let's have a revolution!". One by one the rest say they can't manage it today because their "TV Times" shows that a good programme will be on shortly. Their leader is left alone, sadly saying "And I did so want a revolution!" .

Re: Memorable vintage electronics advertising.
Television transmission didn't start in Scotland until 1952 but this advert in the Dundee Evening Telegraph September 1949 suggests that you might want advance book your receiver.
