The admin names Ian Lockhart & Kris Sekula seem familiar to me, maybe they're members here, under a nom-de-plume?
Looking at their cars & houses I'm not sure they'd have a scruff like me

A Kris Sekula is behind https://mygeekyhobby.com/ with the very useful EPROM emulator, it might not be the same individual though.

I don't participate in social media at all so unfortunately that's me out, but thanks DavidMS for the pointer.

It is, Kris is a regular on Minimalist Computing group, that must be where I'd seen the name.
Just realised Ian Lockhart is Tims pal with the proper Cherry keyboard MK14!
So, both very genuine, a safe group to join

Thanks for the info - I've now also applied to join that one (which has now got 52 members since this new group was created a day ago!)

I don't normally use FB that much, but have found that some specialised Vintage / Retro computer groups mainly seem to be on there - Like:
SS50 & SS30 Computer Bus Chat,
TEC-1 Z80 Computer Group,
ZX UNO (FPGA-based, multi-computer emulator),
ZX Spectrum Next

and Kris Sekula's:
EPROM EMU NG Users Group
- Which he was trying as a bit of an experiment to see if people preferred this over his original group, at https://groups.io/g/eprom-emu-ng
(But probably also a few on the groups.io group, who didn't really do FB)

I hadn't realised that Kris was aware that much of the MK14, being based in the USA and mainly using his EPROM-Emulator project on Commodore's etc.
Although he did tell me he was working near me in the UK for a while, and was always keen for anyone to tell him about / send pictures of his EPROM-Emulator being successfully being used on any system (Inc. Homebrew ones), that no-one else seemed to have tried so far.
- So it will be interesting to see when someone has it connected to an MK14 (Will require making a custom adaptor from its DIL header to the PROM sockets, although would plug into ChrisOddy's MK14E a bit easier) or other SC/MP system (Might be able to use the MM5204 to 2716 readout adaptor I made, for the NS Introkit).

And I have been meaning to make one of Kris's EPROM-Emulators, as he's put quite a bit of effort into making it as quick & convenient as possible to update the target's running-image from the link to a PC / compilers run on that. Whereas the EPROM-Emulator only one I think I've currently got is that built into the Dataman S3, as never quite got round to building an EPROM-Emulator myself that I'd originally designed to go with my EPROM-Programmer project I'd been working on in the 80's.

I remember a few eprom emulator projects in the magazines back in the day, from eti, elektor, byte etc plus there were a few 'small ads' ones built by blokes in sheds
I never built or used one back then, and these days eeprom is quick & easy, and we all have a lot more coding experience than we had back then so hopefully fewer mistakes

Hello Guys…

The Mk14 FB group is me… I’m Ian Lockhart.

I’m not on the forums here very much, I was about to share the groups existence but looks like I was beaten to the punchline.

Besides KrisS, TimG is also admin for the FB group.

Hopefully more will come and say hello too.

Cheers

Come join in? We have 70 group members in just a few days.

After a flurry of 'AA' style introductions its gone very quiet on there G.
I think there are relatively few group members as yet who actively use an SC/MP... no-one else has posted any original code - Ian L (Tims pal) keeps stirring the pot but its a slow burner...

As mentioned earlier I'm afraid I don't use any kind of social media at all (this forum is about as sociable as I get) so I'm only ever going to hear about it second hand.

Hey Guys,

Looks like I'm a bit late to the party, yes this is Kris Sekula aka avrkris ... I'm one of the admins of the MK14 group on FB. Some of you know me as the person behind the open-source EPROM Emulator or the SC/MP microcomputer. Happy to be part of this community.

Kris

Nice to have you here Kris, you are joining a small band of elite SC/MP software and hardware experts here (and also me, just along for the ride).
