Default 1985 Bondwell 8 Laptop

Anyone know anything about these things?

http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/d...dwell-Model-8/

I thought I'd binned mine years ago but found it in the loft.

I used it to practise morse code using an old DOS program but that was >20yrs ago.

Are these worth anything?

Not really worth anything. If you need to program old Motorola Radios with DOS software it might be useful. If it goes.

Thanks for the replies

Yes, it still works but it's pretty slow!

The battery is missing but I think it was a generic sealed lead acid type.

I was sure I'd thrown it out years ago but wondered if it had gained any value to a collector.

It's strong points were that it was totally silent in operation (with the LCD backlight off) and it ran procomm really well and it only required a small amount of power from an external PSU.

For what you are likely to get for it I would put it back in the loft and forget about it again.
