Default Sailing ship electric fire

Hello everyone I have resonantly (recently) got a Sailing ship electric fire and need help. One of the pencil bar elements is blown and I need a new one. I will be replacing both just to make it last. They are 10 inch long.

They probably are the 1000 watt ones but just to be sure.

This site has them for sale are any of these ones appropriate? I want to get the wattage right .

Sounds like the famous 'BRITANNIC' fire Scott. If the fire bars are 10" long you only need to know the fixing which I think are the standard screw terminals. The wattage is not that important as such and 750 watt elements will be fine and be a bit more economical. The types that are listed here are all silica tubes and unsuitable for your fire if it is the type I think it is. Photo?

These http://www.easyspares.co.uk/products.asp?c=39&c2=219 would seem to be the correct type. I really like this sort of heater, much less glare than the modern halogen types.

Hello,

There would normally be a wattage rating on a plate somewhere on the fire. If it says 1500 watts then you would need 2 x 750 watt elements and if it says 2000 watts then you need 2 x 1000 watt elements.

I found the pictures below on the internet and if this is the same as yours it is rated at 1500 watts so would use 2 x 750 watt elements.

These would seem to be the nearest if requires 750 watt 10 inch elements. :- http://www.easyspares.co.uk/product....&c2=219&p=4812 or these http://www.easyspares.co.uk/product.asp?c=39&p=4811 if it needs 1000 watt 10 inch elements.

Yours, Richard

'tis rather a splendid thing, shame that electric is so expensive these days.

Hi all

John: It seems not to be the BRITANNIC fire it is by another maker Bunting Like the one in Mr Moose pics

Mr Moose: it is very close to the ones you uploaded with some slight variation.

Here are some pics
