Re: RetrotechUK (NVCF) September 26th at WEC.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I bought well, (several more Roberts - including a heavily fire damaged RT8 - for a pound!....) but the best part was reuniting in person with existing friends, and spending the day in such good company.
A great day, I'm now already looking forward to the next meet at Golborne.

Re: RetrotechUK (NVCF) September 26th at WEC.
For those who weren't there (or those who were there but can't remember...), here is a (small) still from Alex Hewitt's video of the event (in cinemas near you soon!).
This is looking from the cafe/restaurant end towards the entrance. Hidden round the corner to the right at the far end were the Bring & Buy, the BTTT and BECG outside broadcast restoration charity stands, Bob Smallbone's wonderful Marconi spark demonstration, the Brimar stand, and more stalls including the huge BVWS stall. All in all, a great day out for everyone. -Jeremy

Just thought I'd add a photo I took from the cafe.
I concur it was a fab day, just a shame that the turnout was possibly marred by the perceived (but false) fuel shortage. I actually drove down from Newcastle, a fair trek but worth it. |

It was a great event, I was looking forward to it for ages and it was well worth the trip. Some of the things that caught my attention:

Re: RetrotechUK (NVCF) September 26th at WEC.
Came home with a Trio KA-2000A amplifier less the case. I have an identical one of these so fixing it plus making a case will be a nice winter project. For £5 I couldn't resist! Also for £5 was this rather nice Yamaha DVD/SACD player. Looks brand new, but doesn't boot up properly, seems to have a firmware problem. I also got an elcipse DVD player for £10 to replace my failed Panasonic unit. And, at last, finally a working Betamax VCR to add to the colelction, a Sanyo VTC-5000 for £30. It works perfectly!

Unfortunatly was not able to make it due to zero fuel available, shame as i would have snapped up those CED Players and discs to add to my collection.
