Elizabethan LZ29. A loose cap 0.47uF.
Good morning I was wondering if anybody can help I have just got an Elizabethan LZ29 and during transit a 0.47 cap has come off and I can't see where it should be on the player I was hoping somebody may have a picture so I can see where to solder it back to.
Thank you |

Hmm that looks like an add on a circuit would be handy. Mick.

Re: A loose cap 0.47uf
I had a quick look at the circuit diagram - couldn't see any mention of a 0.47uF capacitor (but it was a quick look).

Re: A loose cap 0.47uf
To be honest, it doesn't look like an original part....certainly not the way the leads are bent...almost as if a larger component made to fit a smaller space. Just doesn't look like it was a factory fitted part.....

Re: A loose cap 0.47uf
Probably a random capacitor that someone used for temporary test purposes and then forgot to remove, leaving it lying lose in case.

Re: Elizabethan LZ29. A loose cap 0.47uF.
In my experience it is not that uncommon to find electrical components and mechanical parts in tape recorders that after checking do not belong to that recorder.
As above maybe it was used for testing purposes or fault finding. Unless the soldering was dreadful, would not expect it to have fallen out, if it was a fitted capacitor. As per Post 3 I also cannot see this value of capacitor shown on the LZ29 or the LZ29/L schematics. David |
