Default Beocord 5000 (49xx series) mechanism

Hello,
Beocord 5000 (the 49xx series, sliding drawer type
Question regarding the cassete mechanism.
Does anyone know how to correctly remove the cover / cap (part 22033 as per exploded parts diag)
from the supply or take-up reel shaft ?
I wish to remove the reel assys to thoroughly clean..
in particular the small sprung 'trident' assy

The exploded parts I have is a scan..it appears there is an indent at top of shaft
and that somehow the cover fixes into that..and holds the reel assemblies on to shaft
Any knowledge appreciated

best wishes
Vincent

I can see the cover on the drawing but do not know how to remove it.

Some of the forum members who own B & O decks may well know.

If not try posting on -

I found the answer.
It simply pulls off.
Fingernails under just the little conical cover and a vertical pull..

It is a plastic moulding and just clicks into a machined groove at top of shaft..
Presume there is a bead of some sort inside it to engage with groove

The trident which should slide up and down freely
on the table assy was binding at the upper part of its travel..
This meant it would not engage properly with the cassette tape lugs (to drive the tape 'spool'
Unable to rewind sometimes and rattling noise.
The reason was that the inner, hexagonal part of the real assy moulding,
(the part that the trident slide up and down upon), had a hairline crack in one side of the hexagonal moulding.
Thus when the end stopper was puhed back in (nice, relatively tight, push fit)
it opened the crack slightly, giving the upper hexagonal part a slight flare..
causing the trident part to bind..

all best

That is all good news, Vincent.

Like many things fairly simple once you know how.

A good diagram and well explained, certainly could be very useful for someone else.

Gluing the trident to the hexagonal stem in its uppermost position works suprprisingly well.
The tape reels will easily adapt when a tape is loaded.
