Pyramid telephone
I am restoring a pyramid telephone which has a small internal bell.
The bell wires are unconnected and I’m struggling to find answers using the general tinterweb. Please can anyone tell me which terminals I should connect the wires to? Best Richard |

Re: Pyramid telephone
Do you have a model number? Pictures would help.

Re: Pyramid telephone
If it's a 232 and you're using a line cord with the standard white/green/blue/red leads:
connect white to T1 blue to T2 red to T3 bell between T1 and T2 green is not used and should be insulated (there isn't a spare terminal to anchor it). See instructions on Bob Freshwater's site.

Re: Pyramid telephone
Hi Rich, Is the small bell a standard twin coil GPO AC one or a DC trembler bell ?
Asking because I have a Pyramid phone which in it's earlier life was an intercom extension had DC signalling with a DC buzzer inside. In fact I am sure the pyramids did not have room for a standard twin coil GPO AC bell so it had to be fitted externally either as a bell set plynth or separate wall mount. Rog |

Re: Pyramid telephone
The description sounds like one of those small single-gong bells that was designed for mounting inside a telephone such as a 232 that wasn't made to have an internal bell.
I currently have one mounted inside my Dictomatic simply because I've never worked out how to make it sound when receiving a call from its exchange channel, so if absolutely necessary I could open that up and take a picture of it. Of course, the "proper" way to add a bell to a 232 is to mount a bell 59A or bellset 26 underneath.

Re: Pyramid telephone
I’ve seen small bells attached to the baseplates as an aftermarket add on. 162/262 phones needed a Bellset.
If you could add a photo Richard, that would help us identify what you have in hand. |

There is a time limit on editing posts of something like 15 to 30 minutes.
I also agree that a photo would be very interesting. |
