Default BBC SCA1 input selector info

Hello
I've just inherited this BBC SCA1 input selector 'preamp' from my dad. Does anyone have experience with or know where and when these were used?
cheers
Jonnie

It's relatively modern by the fact it says "BBC Resources" on the front panel: what surprises me is that it seems to be very "domestic" in that most everything is on unbalanced phono connectors. The mention of SADiE on the front panel should give a clue; I'm going to guess BBC Radio simply because I never saw these in my corner of television.
