Marconi T24DAB
Hi,
I've recently repaired one of these 50's portable radios. Following the usual wax capacitor replacement I found the HT to be low at 75V. I replaced the original rectifier with a silicon replacement and added a further 100 ohms to the mains droppers and the HT is now 90V. The sound quality was very poor due to the speaker. I purchased a replacement and mounted the output transformer in the space vacated by the original rectifier. Only other thing it needed was a DK91 valve. For what it is it works amazingly well but as you can see, could now do with some cosmetic restoration. Regards Graham |
