Decca CTV leaves my workshop.
At last the Decca CTV25 will soon be heading south. Forum members will remember that this is the set I finally gave up with just before I was taken to hospital in October. The pictures show volunteers Gary and Mike lifting the set into the superb French made car that Mike recently acquired.
The other pictures show an old TV set which is to be put in the bin. I've ran out of Bush TV22s. DFWB. |

Yes dump it David. Shocking dangerous killer! The Invicta version of the PYE D16T.
Nice to see your up and about and getting back into the old telly movement. Very cold down south for the first time this winter. All the best David, John. |

Hi John,
Yes I'm back in the shop, doing vintage stuff. It's freezing in here, we've had to burn two TV22s already to keep warm. Regards, David. |

Nah, you get a lot more flame from a TV24!

Bakelite gives off a good old heat once it starts.
That Decca would have given a fair old heat David with all that plywood to burn, Surely all you needed to do was switch it on and wait till the LOPT started a nice fire!

Re: Decca CTV leaves my workshop.
Have you ever had a TV22 with a s/c large filter capacitor between the outside of the chassis and the case? The WW resistor in series with it glows merrily and makes the bakelite to hot to touch, but the set carries happliy on!

You need a few B&O hybrids or G6s on the soak bench, David!

There are no G6 or B&O TVs in the shop but I'd reckon that the Pye 405 CTV could soon warm the place up. It's got three 0.3amp heater chains. It's got something like thirty valves! I'm going into the shop tomorrow to switch on the night storage heaters so it'll take two days to warm up the place. DFWB. |
