Default Ferguson 3V00 - no colour on prerecorded tape, OK on own tapes.

Or whatever these are. Anyway...

New Head. Records and Plays Back in Colour - give it a tape by Somebody Else, or a Pre-Recorded Tape, and this comes up in Black and White.

Am I missing something simple here or what!!

Cheers,

Steve P

Dunce's cap on! That's what happens when you change video heads at 1:30 in the morning I suppose.

Now we've got to do Switching Points, Colour Balance and Tracking.

Never ends does it....

Cheers,

Steve P

Hi Steve.

In my experience, the electronics in these are ultra-reliable and rarely need any tweaking at all. A nice new set of heads and belts, a good thorough clean-up of the tape transport and the thing will last forever.

From Mike.
