Bush TV22 Picture Fault
My Bush TV22 has recently developed what seems to be a sound related picture fault. The fault shows as flickering horizontal lines that are more pronouced with speech than with music, this is also present with the volume at zero, but absent with the audio cables removed.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Graham. |

Re: Bush TV22 Picture Fault
I'd check caps like C52 first.
This is known as Sound on Vision. You've not carried it about and disturbed anything. Easy to do. Could be anything, this. Has any alignment slipped. If not check valves and capacitors in the First and Sound IF's. Remember the sound is AM, so even modulated sound can cause this if it gets too high. Also, check the external modulator hasn't slipped. Cheers, Steve P

Re: Bush TV22 Picture Fault
Thanks for the pointers Steve. Yes I had just moved the sets location and may of disturbed something, so I will check out the obvious first (loose valves, my dodgy soldering) around the sound IF coils.
C52 are you looking at Trader 1003/T15? Regards Graham. |

Re: Bush TV22 Picture Fault
I was looking at T1091. C52 - It's in series with the Volume Control.
Cheers Steve P

Re: Bush TV22 Picture Fault
It did sound like archetypal off-tune SOV!
