WOW. Some fantastic items, although a pity to see this collection broken up. The estimates seem very variable- some realistic, some very low. And there doesn't seem any way to collect than by going to Newbury?

Re: Radio Auction 30/03/2021 SAS auctions
The Ts & Cs seem to assume that bidders will need the auction house packing and shipping service:
“We will where ever possible include on the invoice a charge for packing and shipping the lots purchased. Packing is undertaken in house and shipment is made by Courier or Royal Mail.” Martin

Martin, that could be a considerable addition. I doubt they will use Hermes, buyer's premium plus boxes plus packing - anyone have any experience of the kind of charges involved for an average size radio? I could probably get to Newbury, but of course not encouraged these days ...

Re: Radio Auction 30/03/2021 SAS auctions
I bought a rather delicate microscope from Duggleby's Auction in Scarborough and I was very impressed with the quality of the packing, which ensured that it arrived in perfect condition. No, it wasn't cheap, but cost less than making the journey!

Re: Radio Auction 30/03/2021 SAS auctions
Anyone want a cheap HMV901?
Lot 443 in this auction didn't attract any bidders so it could have been bought for £2000. If anyone is interested it might be worth contacting SAS. Peter |
